Bonnaroo: the perfect summer music spot
I wandered to Bonnaroo for 3 years; 2006, 2007 & 2008. Sadly this year I was unable to make it. Which is really quite disappointing, see, I can’t imagine a music festival that isn’t Bonnaroo. In the middle of the day there is not a spot within Centeroo more than 15 paces towards a show. Not only that, but whatever your musical taste you are going to find something, and late at night you can really get going with an eclectic mix of dance, electronica, hip hop or something completely different.
Now, music may be the main draw for most newcomers, but the veterans return for the atmosphere. Folks at Bonnaroo rock, plain and simple. Now maybe that’s because people there are too high to get annoyed or angry, but hey, who really cares. I’ve had conversations witch complete strangers that I wouldn’t have with most of my friends, it all just feels right. Everyone is there for a good time and no one wants to cause trouble (though some incidentally do, word of advice, if the cop says if you keep acting up we’re throwing you on the ground again, don’t yell, “fuck off you piss ant!”).
It’s kind of hard to truly describe Bonnaroo and why when I got there I instantly had a gigantic smile on my face, but I can tell you this much, I nearly skipped my sister’s high school graduation this year to go. Honestly, it came down to a coin toss.
Bonnaroo!!!!
